Hypnotherapy Defined

What is Hypnotherapy?

Becca and other hypnotherapists use hypnotherapy as a natural and powerful way to bypass the analytical-conscious-mind to reprogram the subconscious-mind. Hypnosis refers to a powerful state of focused awareness that can be used to uncover and dissolve the root cause of many issues people suffer from every day. Hypnosis can allow you to access all the healing resources inherent within the subconscious mind, promoting natural healing from within. It's been sanctioned and used by the medical community since 1958 to help patients overcome chronic pain, create anesthesia, and heal psychogenic illnesses.

How long does each hypnotherapy session take?

Your first, intake session will be aiming to learn about you and your needs for hypnotherapy and to create a treatment plan based on your individual needs. The average first hypnotherapy session is about two hours. All other sessions are approximately one hour. If you want to coach around what comes up during hypnosis, an additional 30 minutes to an hour is needed.

Weekly sessions will be determined to setup your plan of action to support lasting change.

What is the typical length of a program I will need?

No matter what you want hypnotherapy to transform in your life, it typically works quickly, depending on how willing you are to relax the conscious mind. Of course, each person is different and what follows is based on an average number of sessions to see desired results. For an idea of how many sessions you will need for your personal wellbeing and health needs, we will determine this in your first session.

  • Generational Trauma: 8-12 sessions

  • Depression: 8-12 sessions

  • Anxiety: 8-12 sessions

  • Phobias: 3-6 sessions

  • Smoking: 5-12 sessions

  • Addiction / Habits: 8-12 sessions

  • Weight loss: 5-12 sessions

What does hypnotherapy feel like?

You are not asleep during hypnosis. You are deeply relaxed and calm while in hypnosis. You are not unconscious or asleep during a hypnosis session. At all times during the course of a hypnotic session, you will be able to hear and think. You are aware of what is going on around you. Although your body is very relaxed, your mind can actually be more alert than normal.

Meditation and hypnosis are similar. Hypnosis is used to reprogram the mind in alignment with your goals and change your limiting beliefs. Both hypnosis and meditation can help you recharge and rejuvenate as well as help you ease stress and anxiety. Hypnosis is actually a very common state of mind you achieve every time you get lost in thought or you allow your mind to wander. Some say it feels like floating or simply very enjoyable, deep relaxation.

Hypnotherapy : FAQ

Can A Hypnotherapist Make Me Do Things I Don't Want to do?

No. You are always in full control in hypnosis. Any suggestions during hypnosis will come from your own words, wishes and guides to reach your desired outcome. Under hypnosis you will not be able to do anything which goes against your personal values or beliefs. A person in the hypnotic state determines their own level of participation in the process

What if I Can't be Hypnotized?

You can be. Trusting your hypnotherapist is essential for effective results. Becca will use initial testing with you to determine your level of ability to be hypnotized. She will use appropriate deepening techniques that are right for YOU. After each session, you will find that you go into hypnosis even easier than the last session and even deeper.

Will I remember What Happens During a Hypnotherapy Session?

You will be deeply relaxed while aware during hypnosis. Your subconscious mind hears every word that is spoken. Your conscious mind will not. However, after the session, you might find that you may only have a partial memory of what you heard while in hypnosis. This amnesia feeling is common. Your subconscious mind will craft the intended message into a constructive dreamlike state. You will recall what you are meant to remember from a conscious level. We bypass the critical factor of the conscious mind to reprogram the subconscious mind.
