What Are You Giving Up For Lent?

Updated: Feb 17, 2021

As an ordained lightbeing, all of the words in the bible, or any religious texts for that matter, hold such different energy. The words that are taken so literal from un-awakened minds, start to make perfect sense when you stop trying to make sense of it all. This is the journey of consciousness. When you remove the constraints of what you must do and how you must obey, and simply live from the heart-space, the divine flow will illuminate your path. With less force and psychological manipulation, you will find your highest self. This releases the bind of the fearful egoic ways.

As we ponder why we practice such religious traditions like Lent, we are reminded that our loving practices reunite us with our true selves, and that of our true knowing. So whatever you call it: self-love practices; monthly rituals; meditation; going to church; sitting in nature.... find what makes you feel holy - whole - and connected to all that is.

Like Lent, there is so much power in the practices of forgiveness and giving up something in order to make your connection to God stronger.... And my personal practices of self-love help me maintain this, as busy as my life may get. Balance is key, especially for those who do so much for so many. Can you relate?

Tending to your whole being is essential for optimum health. So how are you doing in this arena? So this is just little ole' me checking in on sweet-hearted you, to ask some coaching questions for wholeness / holiness...

Mind: What are you needing more of? What could you use less of?

Body: What do you need more of? What do you need less of?

Spirit: What can you use more of? What would serve you well to give up?

As you ponder these questions, you know that freeing up room in your life for what is not serving you well will provide abundance in the areas that you desire. I call this clearing of space, Soul Expansion. This is especially helpful in attuning to your Divine connection.

This is the perfect conversation to have with yourself or with loved ones who are preparing for lent. Lent is often described as a time of preparation and an opportunity to go deeper with God. This means that it's a time for personal reflection that prepares people's hearts and minds for Good Friday and Easter. Whether you honor this tradition or not, I invite you to try giving up one thing until Easter, to see how this frees up some needed space in your life, for healthy self-growth and soul expansion.

Just like many rituals and ceremony amongst the religions to honor divine teachers, or those of you who don't know what lent is, it also represents a time for forgiveness and fasting.

Feel free to email me and let me know what you decide to give up, and invite more of.... I'm excited to witness your journey!
